After the SonoFlow, which was introduced in September of this year, 1MORE has now added another pair of earphones to its lineup. Thanks to its 10mm drivers, the 1MORE Aero is said to offer excellent sound as well as the latest Spatial Audio. Multiple ANC modes and IPX5 certification complete the overall package. In this review, we put the 1MORE Airplane through its paces!

scope of delivery
- Packaging with magnetic closure
- Different earplugs are available
The 1MORE Aero comes in a fairly unobtrusive package. However, the initial unloading feels attractive thanks to the magnetic closure. In addition to the charging case and the earphones themselves, the package also includes a USB-C to USB Type-A cable and three additional headphone accessories of different sizes. Everything is rounded out with a user manual and 1MORE warranty notice.
Optics and workmanship
- The quality workmanship 1MORE is known for
- At 4.9g, the earphones are very light
Despite being made of plastic, the black charging case feels well-made and the magnetic clasp for closing and opening gives a pleasant tactile impression. The 1MORE lettering is also placed in the center of the charging case. There is a USB-C port at the bottom, which can be used to charge the case and headphones. Since the charging case also supports wireless charging, it can also be conveniently placed on a charging pad for charging. Furthermore, the Bluetooth pairing is located on the back, and can be activated via a small button.
The lightweight 4.9g earphones are housed in the case itself and automatically connect to a previously paired smartphone via Bluetooth when opened. Contact search is indicated visually by LED lights on the bottom of the earbuds. When placed in the charging case, the earphones automatically move into position via magnets and stay there even when you’re on the go. The two charging points and three microphones for each earbud can also be seen up close. The earphones are IPX5 certified. While the earphone case is somewhat inconspicuous in black, the rubber caps with an orange ring on the inside visually stand out from the whole. The interaction of both colors gives us a good visual impression overall. In general, the workmanship of the 1MORE Aero is, as always, at a high level – the manufacturer has already managed to prove this to us impressively with its previously tested 1MORE SonoFlow.
- The sound is already balanced from the factory
- The private sound seems somewhat muffled during phone calls
The sound and picture associated with the 1MORE Aero are well set at the factory and no master reset is required. The bass is present enough for the earphones. We felt that the treble and mids sounded a bit flat at first, but this can be rectified by manually adjusting the EQ in the app. The correction improved the sound balance and all sounds were clearly reproduced in all frequency ranges.
However, the 1MORE Aero is less suitable for phone calls—many callers confirmed a somewhat muffled sound. This is somewhat unfortunate, as the 1MORE SonoFlow delivers excellent sound quality by contrast.
- Comfortable to wear
- More unsuitable for jogging
1MORE Aero provides good wearing comfort, which lasts for hours. Thus it does not press anything negative into the ear. For jogging, earphones are still not suitable, because in these sports they can quickly slip out of the ear. However, they sit so comfortably in the ear at home and on the go, we almost forgot we were still wearing the earbuds at all. Perhaps this is also due to the low weight.
African National Congress
- Multiple modes to choose
- The low and mid frequencies are mainly filtered out
We found the 1MORE Aero’s active noise cancellation to be mostly good, though not on par with the 1MORE SonoFlow system. In testing, the Aero basically toned down low- and mid-tones correctly. Higher frequencies were let through, like clinking dishes in a kitchen.
ANC can be variably adjusted across different modes in the app. It’s definitely worth testing all modes, as they have different effects on ambient noise. While we liked the Powerful mode more on the go, the Adaptive Mode performed better in quieter environments. This is because, like turning off ANC, the sound picture changes only marginally. The “WNR” mode is very suitable for strong winds, as it filters well.
Traffic mode is convenient for travelers who have to listen to advertisements. Less tones are filtered out, but more emphasis is placed on sounds from the surroundings.
- Up to 5 hours with ANC and 7 hours without ANC capability
- The charging case provides built-in fast charging function
Unfortunately, we couldn’t fully verify the manufacturer’s advertised battery runtimes of 5 hours with ANC and 7 hours without ANC in testing. In our case, the Aero with active ANC had to pop back into the charging case after about 4 hours. Of course, this value can vary greatly due to the type of music, settings in the app, or sound setting. However, these are still good values for earphones with active noise cancellation in this price bracket.
The charging case is sufficient for more than three additional charging cycles for the earphones and offers an integrated fast charging function. You can continue to enjoy music for three hours with a charging time of 15 minutes. The charging case, including the inner earbuds, needs about two hours to fully charge via a USB-C cable. However, wireless charging is also possible thanks to wireless charging.
- Clear the main screen
- The battery status of all components is shown directly when you open the app
Because tastes certainly differ, 1MORE offers several options in the 1MORE MUSIC in-app to adjust the headphones to suit your hearing. Opening the connected 1MORE Aero app shows us along with the current battery level of any components. Upcoming firmware updates for Aero can also be downloaded and installed.
- The individually customizable equalizer is now integrated into the app
- Double-click and 3-click speaker functions can be configured
- New features like Smart Loudness and Spatial Audio
1MORE provides us with several ANC modes in the app to adapt it to the current environmental situation. Under the Custom Settings menu item, the configuration of the earphones can be optimized. You can variously specify which function to perform when you double-click or triple-click any side of the headset. In addition to the usual media controls like volume up/down or next/previous track, you can also use voice control. In testing, each click was reliably recognized and the selected option executed.
In addition to twelve preset equalizers, we can now also create our own equalizer to manually adjust and save to separate profiles. In a specially created profile, for example, the highs and mids are bumped up a bit, which in our opinion brings out the best sound quality.
Activating the Smart Loudness function should make the bass and treble more attractive even at low volumes. The edit is dynamic depending on the song title and should provide a more powerful experience. However, we could not achieve a significant improvement in the quality of the music in the test, which is why we deactivated this function again. The new spatial listening feature is even more engaging. The sound is displayed spatially, which creates a “presence” effect and allows you to immerse yourself deeper in the action. Since the sound picture only deteriorates slightly, it is recommended to give this function a chance!
Not only does the 1MORE Aero look very good on the data sheet, it also convinces us in the practical test. At the current price of 109.99 euros *, Aero delivers an all-around great sound and different Active Noise Cancellation configuration modes. Through the associated app 1MORE MUSIC, the headphones can be tuned in terms of sound to be closer to one’s well-being and beyond that, the app now finally offers a customizable equalizer. We didn’t experience any connection drops in our testing due to Bluetooth 5.2. Dual-device connectivity is a definite plus, as you can connect your laptop and smartphone at the same time.
Unfortunately, you have to make compromises in terms of sound quality as you’re seen a little off. However, the 1MORE Aero is perfectly suited for on the go, and the built-in fast charging function means that even short recharges promise many hours of music playback.
