With the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro, the manufacturer continues its lineup of powerful external tablets. It features a particularly robust framework, advanced productivity features, and the Samsung Knox security platform.

“When developing the versatile Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro, we made sure to create a tablet that was not only durable and easy to use, but also had the right performance and connectivity to help employees stay productive during their workday,” reveals Christoph Gussmann, Senior Director of B2B Product and Solutions at Samsung Electronics GmbH.
The result is a powerful tablet, yet it comes with an ultra-thin 10.1mm and 674g on the scale. Thus, it is also well positioned for outdoor use, while it is additionally protected thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
It can withstand drops from a height of up to 1 meter, and even drops from a height of up to 1.2 meters with the attached protective cover. As an added layer of protection, the Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro and its S Pen are protected from dust and water according to IP68, while the military standard MIL-STD-810H promises extra protection.
Technology in Active4 Pro
Technically, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro is based on a 10.1-inch TFT display including WUXGQ resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels), although Samsung does not provide any information about its brightness and refresh rate.
The Octa-Cora CPU is installed with clock rates of 2.4GHz and 1.8GHz, and it is backed by 6GB of operating memory and 128GB of system memory. The latter can be expanded up to 1 TB via a micro-SD card.
The Android tablet also supports NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1. There’s also a 3.5mm jack, as well as Wi-Fi 6 with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (2.4GHz + 5GHz). ), HE80, MIMO, 1024-QAM. A 5G model is also offered.
The battery capacity is 7600 mAh, which should be enough for up to 16 hours of internet use and video playback according to the manufacturer. It can also be removed and replaced.
Speakers with Dolby Atmos technology, two microphones, and two cameras are also available. The rear camera has a resolution of 13 MP (f / 1.9) and autofocus, while the front camera has a resolution of 8 MP (f / 2.0). It uses Android 12 as the operating system.
Developed to work
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro was also developed for commercial use in this field. Thus, device keys can be programmed for use in businesses, for example, to quickly launch important or most frequently used applications with the push of a button.
The touch sensitivity of the screen can also be adjusted for use with gloves, so that employees can operate the device at any time. The ability to unlock the device via facial recognition provides additional data security.
The speakers are meant to be particularly loud so that they are clearly audible even in a noisy construction site or hospital environments, for example. The Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro is also compatible with a range of accessories from Samsung and third-party suppliers. From engineered cases with straps or mounts to charging stations, clip-on keyboard covers and barcode scanners.
For stationary tasks, the Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro can be easily connected to an external monitor via Samsung DeX or used in standalone mode to simulate the desktop interface on the tablet.
Price and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro is expected to be available in Germany in WiFi and 5G models from mid-September 2022. The S Pen and protective cover are already included with the tablets. The manufacturer hasn’t said pricing details yet, but the product’s official website offers some additional details.
