Resident Evil Re:Verse – The 8 Biggest Fixes This Game Needs

Resident Evil Re: Verse It is a game of divisive public opinion. On Steam, it has overwhelmingly “mixed” reviews as of November 1, 2022, and that’s unlikely to change any time soon. While the game features a huge cast of characters from across the franchise that you’re fighting for free for everyone, there’s a lot to fix if the number of these players is to start rising again. “Fix” can, of course, mean many things like an update that corrects bugs, a patch that fixes some exploit, or even that developers try to update content to “fix” parts of the game that were missing.

So, let’s tackle some of the biggest complaints yet at Resident Evil Re: Verse From the fan base, what specific changes are they asking for, and why do they feel the need for those changes.

8/8 More maps and modes

First of all, the basic game just needs more content. As things stand, there are only two maps with Baker House and RPD as well as one 5-minute death mode. Of course in a free-for-all death game it makes sense that people wouldn’t be able to party because that would be totally unfair, but that’s no excuse. Capcom was supposed to have a Team Deathmatch mode or similar mode ready at launch so that the massive portion of the player base who wanted to play with their friends would at least have something to catch on.

6/8 Game manual or glossary of terms and mechanics

There’s a lot about this game that players don’t really know through the tutorial, like how brutal knockouts are, how bioweapons can get people stuck in melee combos, or even that a lot of skills naturally lead to easy kill formations. This is where the in-game Codex can be huge, serving as a dictionary of the game’s terms and mechanics that players can read when they choose rather than being forced to go through everything in a tutorial. This not only motivates players to understand the game they are playing, but also helps prevent hundreds of posts in forums and discussion boards asking the same basic questions.

Take another game released around the same time as reflectAnd the Dragon Ball: The Breakers, for example. This game has a lot of small mechanics so they put an NPC inside the game, Manual Robo, so that players can interact with it to read every mechanic in the game.

5/8 Less cosmetic and gameplay rewards associated with BattlePass

Players have to spend a lot of time in matches to get enough RP to buy cosmetics they want or unlock things they are already interested in from the free BattlePass. Thankfully, there aren’t any coins in Premium BattlePass, so there’s not much of a “pay to win” argument, but the lack of many fun bonuses in the early hour of this game doesn’t do much for its life as a whole. Outside the dedicated few who love to pursue these kinds of things.

4/8 More skins and cosmetics for players to work towards

Speaking of cosmetics, one of the biggest “fixes” this game needs is more of them. As things stand, there are a maximum of two skins per gun, one skin (two at most) per character, a set of weapon enchantments, and a large number of Emotes. But let’s be honest, the skins are pretty basic for the most part, nobody really uses Emots, and all weapon variants are the same Lava Lover, Tribal Silver or Pool Party skins glued to different pistols.

The Resident Evil andThe farm has a huge fan demographic who will do just about anything or buy any game if it means they can play as characters like Claire, Ada or Leon in a cool outfit, but this game doesn’t take very good advantage of that. Fans aren’t pointing out that Capcom is going crazy with its cosmetics to the level of something like Fall Guys, but now it’s just too abstract.

3/8 classified mode

This is a fix that almost any game needs without it, and this is the rated mode. Immediately, reflect It only has standard matches and passcode matches (their version of private matches), and that’s it. There is nothing that separates players who have spent more than 30 hours in the game from those who have just downloaded it. Usually MMR helps to do this naturally, but since the number of players is low in the game, matchmaking does not work quite as intended in this regard.

And while giving beginners that spartan training against the pros might help them improve quickly, it can have the opposite effect and cause them to bounce out of the game just as a lot of guys did. But, there is a lot of truth to the cheating claims in RE: Verse because the game does not have anti-cheat software or protection tools of any kind. Yes, this means that modification is very easy, but it also means that cheating is easy as well. So far, players have reported quick hacks, damage hacks, and even hacks where the player is as invincible as if they had just grown up throughout the match.

Fortunately, most cheats seem to happen in mainly high MMR matches, so at least new players are not exposed to them constantly causing more people to bounce off the game. Capcom doesn’t need to come up with a “witty” solution or anything else, but any anti-fraud effort is better than no solution at all.

1/8 Penalties for players who leave or get angry

Finally, let’s talk about the “leak out” or “outrage” issue that this game is currently experiencing. As of November 1, 2022, there are a lot of games where people leave once the scoreboard doesn’t look good to them or they quit after losing a single match. Now, that would naturally be a bit aggravating but not the end of the world.

But, since this game runs on a peer-to-peer system rather than a server-based system, oftentimes the one who leaves is the host and the lobby breaks up to reward those with almost nothing left. In terms of RP. When there are no systems in place to punish people for quitting, there will certainly always be a percentage of players who take advantage of that.
