We have seen some reports in the past few months of young people using TikTok as their preferred search engine for some inquiries. More specifically, it seems that users are increasingly turning to the video platform for searches related to commercial inquiries (such as restaurants), educational programs and more.

We can understand why TikTok is becoming more and more popular for searches like restaurants, for example. Food is a staple of visual social media platforms, so it’s a given that you’ll find great places to eat in your area with relevant searches. TikTok’s short video format also seems well suited for tutorials.
