CPL offers digital newspaper collection

The Columbus Public Library provides access to a large collection of digital newspapers. Entitled Access World News, this collection is available to all library patrons and is updated daily. Access World News provides online access to current and archived issues of full-text newspapers, including the Lincoln Journal Star, Grand Island Independent, and USA Today.

On the Digital Library page, users can access full text articles for the Columbus Telegram archive collection from 1999 to present. The Omaha World Herald Archives is also available in text from 1983 to 2021, and image format from 2018 onwards.

Access World News enables library patrons to easily search and browse current and archived news articles, editorials, reviews, birth and marriage announcements, obituaries, and a variety of special sections. Patrons can use this resource as a general reference or to research local and national issues, events, people, government, education, arts, business, sports, real estate, and much more. In addition to using Access World News at library workstations, patrons can access the collection from home by logging in with their library card at www.cplconnect.us.
