Great things are coming to RDU in 2016. We’re excited about 7 new routes launching from our airport this year. Of course, the most anticipated is Paris, but we’re also ready to welcome Salt Lake City as a new destination and new options to Atlanta, Cancun, Los Angeles, Orlando and Philadelphia.
Ready for Paris
To say we’re excited about our new nonstop service by Delta Air Lines to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is an understatement. Beginning on May 12, you can depart RDU on a B-757-200 aircraft and arrive just 8 hours later in the French capital.
From here, you can easily connect to more than 75 cities throughout Europe, Africa and Asia via SkyTeam Alliance partners. This means seamless ticketing and bag check-in here at RDU through to your final destination. Cities include:
- New Delhi
We’ve launched a new web page: rdu2paris.com with a complete connections route map and a link to book your flight! Take time to explore the possibilities via Paris today.

A New Option for Cancun
American Airlines recently announced new weekly nonstop service to Cancun, one of the most popular Mexican vacation destinations.
The weekly flight will depart and return to RDU on Saturday afternoons beginning March 5 through September 3. The flight then returns for the holidays, beginning again on November 17.
American Adds L.A. Flight
Also from American Airlines, there’s a new way to access Los Angeles this summer. The carrier is adding additional seasonal service six days per week from June 2 through August 22. The flight departs RDU in the evening and lands in L.A. in the evening as well. The return flight is a red-eye, arriving at RDU around 5 a.m.
United Upgrades RDU Flights
New route announcements aren’t the only upgrades at RDU. On December 2, 2015, United Airlines operated its last turboprop aircraft out of RDU, meaning that all commercial flights at the airport are now via jets. The airline has also adjusted its aircraft fleet mix to ensure that every flight departing RDU has two classes of passenger service on board.
From RDU, United Airlines offers nonstop flights to Chicago-O’Hare, Denver, Houston-Bush, Newark, San Francisco and Washington-Dulles.
